The transformer is connected to the mains using large
diametre wires, including an earth connection. It is protected by a fuse
which rating is in line with what the manufacturer advised.
The
secondary outputs (there are two) are also protected by a 1A fuse.
The
first one is connected to the tracks, the second one is available for
future accessories.
